Meet Judge Tia Hudgins Taylor

Judge Tia Hudgins Taylor serves as a District Court Judge in North Carolina’s Eighth Judicial District, which includes Nash, Edgecombe, and Wilson Counties. In her role, she is committed to fairness, integrity, and meaningful access to justice. A native of Rocky Mount, North Carolina, Judge Taylor brings both professional excellence and deep community roots to the bench. Before her judicial appointment, Judge Taylor practiced law as an associate attorney in private practice and also as an assistant district attorney. This well-rounded background informs her thoughtful and balanced approach to decision-making. Judge Taylor is a graduate of Elon University School of Law and Queens University of Charlotte. Judge Taylor is deeply engaged in her community. She serves on several local boards, including the Rocky Mount Redevelopment Commission, the Boys & Girls Club, and Communities in Schools. Judge Taylor resides in Rocky Mount with her husband, Dr. Tevin Taylor, and their two children.

On June 11, 2026 at 9:30 AM ET Tia Hudgins Taylor will swear the oath of the Politician's Creed committing him by the 7 Articles of the Creed to the people of his district.  We urge you to read the Politician's Creed to understand both it and the commitment that Judge Hudgins Taylor is making.

Attendant in addition to Tia Hudgins Taylor will be members of his advisory board along with representatives of The Oath of Office.

This event will take place virtually via a Zoom session and will last just under 10 minutes.  All seat holders will receive the Zoom meeting credentials in the hours running up to the event.

About The Oath Of Office

Administration of the Oath to the Politician's Creed is performed by The Oath Of Office Inc, a 501(c)(4) non-profit registered in the state of Texas.

The Oath Of Office manages the endorsements process which awards the Politician's Creed badge to any candidate who has made it through the vetting process.  The badge is protected by law and may not be copied, displayed, or utilized in any fashion on behalf of any persons who are not at the time endorsed by The Oath Of Office Inc.

Candidates and politicians who have made it through the vetting process and sworn the Oath of the Politician's Creed receive ongoing support from The Oath Of Office and our partners in support of the candidate's adherence to the creed and commitment to their constituents.
